About Me

I was born and have lived the majority of my life in the South West of England. I come from a farming family, I love being outdoors and enjoy walking with my dog on the moors or on our beautiful coastline.

I am experienced in working with a wide range of personal, emotional and mental health challenges. I concentrate on one-to-one working with people of all ages, and I am dedicated to confidentiality, professionalism and ethical practice.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) (Register number: 407353). I adhere to their Ethical Framework, which upholds and ensures ethical working practices at all times, and puts the wellbeing of the client at the heart of all work.

I believe in the strength and goodness within people. My strengths as a counsellor come from both lived, personal experience and professional learning and expertise. I have a deep sense of empathy and understanding, including an appreciation for the complexities of human emotions and behaviour. This allows me to understand individual perspectives, particularly when someone’s actions and ways of being are influenced by emotional pain or unresolved struggles. I work with clients to explore these patterns with kindness, curiosity, and compassion. Many years working therapeutically with children and young people, and studying emotional development, has developed my ability to recognise the wounded parts of ourselves and how they shape our adult relationships. These experiences help me to connect with others in an accepting and genuine way, creating a safe environment for healing and growth.
